Sigonella Chefs

I just got back from a very interesting cooking class offered through FFSC. We went to the fish market in Catania to buy all the food we would need to prepare a wonderful Italian lunch.

The fish market is an interesting experience - nothing like buying fish from the supermarket. The swordfish we bought was fresh off the fish.

This was my boyfriend at the market. He loved having his picture taken.

The owner of I Crociferi was nice enough to let us use his kitchen even though he had customers coming in for lunch. We had a great time back in the kitchen with his staff even though they didn't speak much English. They showed us how to prepare seafood pasta with shrimp, clams and fish, a basic tomato sauce, grilled swordfish, fennel salad, and orange salad.

The owner teaching us the proper way to cut up an orange.
